Microsoft are showing off Windows Phone 8 in two weeks! Hopefully with next gen Lumia hardware too

Are they going to keep it simple or offer full Windows RT experience? What do you want Microsoft to do?

Yes but how much WinRT will they expose?

I want to see ICS style UI switching, for both the OS and apps (see webtop 3, Asus padfone etc)

I really dont think we are going to see much, but really want WP to pull something great out.

Really hope its good... Depending on the outcome will decide if I tell the company I work for to buy 200 of these, or dirty Android!

I really hope it's good, I'm hoping for an iOS and Android mix, the stability and polish of the former, but with the flexibility of the later, maybe with the solid functionality of BB too.

That would be awesome, fingers crossed.

Oh, and don't forget more of Nokia's epic design, hopefully with the specs to match. That 41MP camera would make me seriously tempted.

I wouldn't hold out much hope for the 808's sensor in Nokia's flagship WP8 device. If you've seen reviews of the 808 then you'll have seen how thick it is compared to the iPhone 4(S), Galaxy SIII and HTC One X. To be blunt, the 808 is a brick. More than likely, the flagship WP8 handset will have Pureview technology and a lower resolution sensor (12MP? 16MP?) to maintain a sleek form factor while giving the handset imaging prowess that's a cut above the direct competition. Of course, it is possible that they would do another high-end handset with the full 41MP sensor on board.

Truth be told, while I love the idea of the 808 I really can't see me buying a device like it purely for form factor reasons. The 710 is already a bit too thick with the official case on; you KNOW when it's in your pocket.

The size is not particularly due to the sensor, it's due to the lens(es) in tandem with the sensor. Remove the quality lenses and you lose a lot of the image quality.

Stick a 12-16mp sensor in there with a small lens and you're not going to get much of an improvement over all the other smartphones.

They could stick an N8 lens on an updated sensor and beat most current smartphones tbh, so their ability is there. The N9/Lumia 800 was a bit of a step down but if they really want to push the camera side of things they probably could unless their lens producer from the N8 has backed out of working with them?

Tbh I think the main concern should be making the plastics in the body stronger. It's all well and good having a unibody construction but unless it's strong then it all dents far too easily as there's a lot less 'give' inherent in a unibody chassis, and as a result my Lumia 800 has a fair couple of dents in it meaning I have to use the case almost all the time kind of killing off the lovely design they have.
