My Windows Photo Gallery no longer seems to want to display any pictures. If I open a file the photo gallery loads up however the area where the picture would be displayed remains white and if you hover the mouse over it you get the working animation. (the thumbnail in the right pane displays fine)

I've also tried launching Photo Gallery on its on and opening a picture through that, and I (sometimes) get an error about windows either being out of memory or possibly running low on hard disc space displayed within the space where the picture would be.

I'm running Vista x64 with 4gb of RAM and all the latest updates off Windows Update. Anybody come accross this before or know any solutions?

Cheers.

Have tried a few restarts now without any success. Not sure really whats caused it, I've had a look around google for similar issues and it doesn't seem to be widely reported, and no solutions :(

Its isolated to Windows Picture Gallery atleast, thumbnails in explorer still work fine and if I open the slideshow option through the Picture Gallery that also works fine. Is there a way to force Windows to reinstall Photo Gallery? Somehow I don't think there is. :o

Ok seem to have found the cause and a solution, followed from a suggestion in Microsofts Newsgroups here.

There was an optional driver update for my monitor that appeared on Windows Update on Tuesday, Hyundai N91W. I had installed this update, have now rolled back to the previous driver (Generic PnP one) and Photo Gallery seems to be working fine again.
