Hello

I've suddenly just noticed that I can't use the Windows Photo Viewer application anymore.

I have followed the recommended steps when searching on Google, which says to remove any Colour profiles from the system and that will work. Well, I had no profiles assigned to begin with so that has not worked.

I have since done a Colour calibration and saved this profile, to see if that would do anything, and it hasn't.

I have rebooted, have no open programs eating up my 4GB of RAM... the only thing I have done lately is installed 10.10d Cats.

I am running Win7 64-bit. Everything else seems to be fine. I had a look under Add/Remove Programs > Windows Features to see if I could remove and re-install the Photo Viewer application, but it's not listed.

Any help appreciated. :)

Are you opening it my double clicking on a photo, or from the start menu?
When you launch it, is anything logged in the Event Viewer?

You could try opening the install.wim file (with 7zip or similar) on your install DVD and then extracting the PhotoViewer.dll to a place on your hard drive. Then copying the version from inside the install.wim from the DVD into C:\Program Files\Windows Photo Viewer. Be sure to backup the version that's already there!

Thanks for the reply.

I am double clicking on the photo, and also, right-click > preview. Sadly, nothing in the event viewer when I try this way. I could not see it listed in my Start Menu...

I will try your suggestion later on today and see if that helps.

Thanks!
