I have set my default picture viewer to XP Picture & Fax Viewer which I think is an excellent viewer.

The default Picture Editor within the Picture and Fax Viewer is Paint. How do I change to editor a different programme? I do not want to change the viewer, just the default editor.

I cannot find a way to resample pictures within Paint. Resizing simply crops the picture from the bottom right hand corner. Am I missing something or is that just the way it is?

when i installed paint.net it asks if you want to make it the default editor

Hi,

Thanks for that, however when I go that route I do not have an "advanced" button, I have a "restore" button instead. When I click on "restore" the programme to open with changes from XP Fax & Picture Viewer to Microsoft Photo Editor and I then have the "advanced" button.

I want to view with XP Fax & Picture Viewer and edit when neccesary with Microsoft Photo Editor. It appears as if the Microsoft Photo Editor is set as the default viewer somewhere else and when you change the file association to the Windows Picture viewer you only get the restore button.
