Hi all, trying to buy a Windows product key and found the above website selling them for next to nothing. Well you know what they say, if something's too good to be true, it probably is.

What do people think? Is this a legit site? Is there any way they could be selling genuine product codes at such a low low price??

(sorry if this contravenes any forum rules, I'm just interested to know if anybody's had any dealings with sites like this in the past....)

See, I'd have said the same, but I recently bought a product key for Battlefield 3 from some guy on eBay for like £15, same deal, pay to a gmail paypal address - came through straight away, worked like a charm! I don't know how the money behind these things works, but isn't it possible that the retailers buy what is essentially a digital product with no overheads/shipping/storage costs etc and then decide their own price based on what they think customers would pay? for like £20 I'm almost tempted to give it a try! If it is truly 'legit', it'll be the first legit copy of Windows I've ever owned! :-D (because I'm a Mac user, not because I'm a software pirate.....obviously......)

Hahah yes, some of the grammar is slightly suspect..... okay, well if it stops working I suppose I can always buy a proper one! Well worth a try though.

As far as the 'piracy' issue goes, I don't think it's quite like buying a pallet of stolen DVD players for £50... Yes it's cheaper than 'retail' but that's not to say that you should automatically assume that something untoward is happening. I've seen other 'resellers' offering 'discount' software in the past that has been completely legitimate (we used to refer customers in the IT shop where I worked to some Microsoft site that was selling MS Office to students for hugely discounted prices, like £25...).
