I currently have Windows 7 installed on my SSD along with a few apps and games with the rest of my apps, games, music, videos etc. on my storage drive.

What would be the correct process for doing a format and reinstall of windows? Would I have to also re-install my apps and games (inc. Steam) that are on my storage drive or would they continue work post reinstall?

Thanks

Most of the Steam games will continue to work. Some of the apps should work. There's only one way to find out. :)

They'll work just fine as long as your new install of Windows assigns the same drive letter to the storage drive... Some of the games under steam (the badly implemented ones :p) have some element of hard-coding the path they are first installed to, which means they won't be launchable if anything about the path changes.

However for those you can just "delete local content" in Steam and then tell it to re-download the game and it should just find the files again without re-downloading anything (the "delete" won't find the files either and then the downloader is designed to only download files which aren't already in the destination)
