Windows Re-install going wrong!

Hi there some might remember me from a bit ago, after a bad flash my system complete went (RAGE)

After trying many remedies i settled that i would have to wait for a BIOS chip from ASUS for my mobo. Well as expected with my luck it didnt work.

So anyway i ordered a new mobo off a certain auction site and went about installing it last night.

So today build is completed, go to boot (i see POST screens WOOHOOO!)
but as it boots it resets, BSOD blah blah, cant get it working in safe mode or anything.

But who cares im over that and reformatting, i just want a fast pc back up and running!

Anyway i deleted the partitions and am now left with nothing but unpartitioned space.

However this is what it says:

131070 MB on disk 0 at id 0 at bus 0 atapi [MBR]

unpartitioned space 131069 MB

Now call me crazy but for a 250gb sata drive that strikes me as odd. Though i am inexperienced.

I didnt think my HDD was borked cus i can hear it working and during the POSt screens before i tried reformatting it was clearly listed and correctly.

So what do i do!? Do i quit out of setup and try agaain and see if its 'refreshed?' or will that kill my comp off completely?

ok the leprachuan thing got me and as we're going to beat you in the rugby i thought you might need some happiness.

Resetting out of the setup is fine, wont matter at all. What does it say in the BIOS, does it say the right size? is this one drive or a raid array? did you format it in FAT or NTFS?

Sounds like the 127GB limit problem i've heard some people get. It usually happens with older hardware from what I understand and versions of XP that don't have SP1 installed.

Google "127gb limit" for possible solutions.

Also, check you've set the jumper on the back of the hard drive correctly (is it SATA or IDE?).

Use a Windows CD with incorcorated SP1 or later or just install to the 127GB partition and then after updating Windows, resize the partition to use all of the available space.
