Windows reactivation: will this work?

I'm about to change my computer completely apart from the hard drive, when I purchased XP I bought it with the HDD it is currently on and it was listed on OcUK as OEM although it has been reinstalled since.

I know that XP is going to kick up a stink when I swap the cpu, mobo and basically everything apart from the HDD.

Will the reactivation team be happy with the fact I am using just the HDD I bought the copy with?

Also is the phone line you have to call open 24/7?

it should work fine anyway, as long as you don't reinstall and activate loads of times, its usually fine. Ifit doesn't, itll give you a number to call (0800) who will give it to you anyway (at least they didn't ask me any questions)

Hopefully that line will be available when I finish building the PC this evening, I presume its 24/7

(Just read another thread on this I'm sure burnsy2023 will come in here and tell me I will be breaking the law and should be hung)

Use it mate, as long as your not takin the mick and installing it on 20 pc's so to speak i dont think ms really mind that much.

well their not gonna come around mob handed and take all your stuff and your mum an then drag you through the courts anyways lol

If you aint activated it lots of times then I doubt it will even bother you, I only had to call after I had used up my limit of activations, and then they gave me the new key easy enough, I dont think the phone line is open 24/7 though, I am sure its only open to 10pm but I might be wrong, just seem to remember seeing that when I had to call up.

I called after installing a new m/b and doing a win xp repair - there was a american guy on the end of the line at 10:30 on sunday night.

I rang up saturday afternnon after putting lots of new stuff in, the women got a few numbers wrong, asked how many PC's I had it installed on and it worked spiffily.
