Hey all,

I have encountered a problem with my computer, I was on my log in screen and I turned off the pc from power button because I was trying to rest something and it doesn't always work if I reset as it should do! The copy of Windows I have is actually a fake version of Vista but is actually XP.

Anyway, the problem I have come across is that when I turned my pc back on it goes to the 'Safety mode, start windows normally' screen etc. But once I have selected one of the options, it just loops itself and goes back to that screen. This is not the first time it has happened, before I just have it time and 'fixed' itself.

I then tried my counterfeit copy of windows cd into the disk drive, waited to load up and it just me the option of completely reinstalling windows and mo option to 'repair' as what I have read is possible on other forums.

If anyone could please help me with this problem, I would be so thankful. I have so much **** on my pc that I can't afford to lose!

I take your word for it! But if I bought the genuine copy will I be able to restore what I already have?

Or is there any chance I can save the stuff I have on my hard drive?

Dont know if you were really after any help to fix it after just admitting youve got a counterfeit copy of windows?

Buy windows, Format, Install, Job done.

If you've got an external hard drive or even a seperate hard drive, You may be able to install it onto that and then rescue what you have. But there is nothing to say that whatever problems you have now will transfer across.
