hi guys,
i have a pc that im building for a friend for a mini file server running win2k server, got everything running until i put in an additional 500gb sata drive.

Windows only recognises it as 128gb instead of 500gb?

any ideas on how i fix this?

I googled it and it came up that it is a problem with the registry and something needs changed but i wanted to ask you guys first.

cheers for your help guys

XP only detects about 128GB of space, you need to have SP2 slipstreamed into it for it to see the whole drive.

Either do that or install SP2 later and make more partitions later.

:edit: Ignore me, I just actually read your post and I'm not talking much sense :o

sorted guys.

Just for future reference i had to do a registry edit called EnableBigLba.

Then done a restart and it worked perfect.

cheers
