Windows recovery console-pls help?

Hi,
Can anyone pls help? Everytime I boot the computer up,it keeps saying something about the sys.ini files. Instead off reinstalling XP, I was trying to use the recovery console.

When I go into repairing xp using the recovery console, it keep asking for the adminstor passwd- I can't remember the passwd-is there any way to get past it?

try leaving the password blank

Thanks for the replies I've tried leaving the passwds blank-but it keeps saying passwd incorrect.
