Windows recovery files are called what?

I am sure I set up automatic backup for my pc, but the ssd has gone **** up and I can’t find on the network or on my other hard drives where I saved them what is the file type called so I can search for them please?

Depends on what you did
Did you use file history?
Or image backup?
One backs up files the other everything

Try searching for vhd
Or use free software windirstat
It gives an easy to use graphical view of files
Large ones are easy to see then you right click and explorer to the file location
To see if it's what you want

I rely on windirstat a lot lol
I am always saving stuff and not naming the folders something that would give me
A clue what's in them for later use lmao
