i always used to swear by regseeker back when i was on xp. so i thought i'd give it a try on vista. checked the download page and it said windows (all) was supported but not vista specifically... i guess that's my mistake because it's just hosed my vista install....

i'm posting now from safe mode with networking but i can't get it to boot in recovery mode or normal mode. i tried restoring the backup and that appeared to import the old reg file ok but windows still won't start. so now to re-install. oh joy.....

so regseeker gets a big thumbs down from me. :D

18 minutes from my last post and i'm back online with a new windows install. that's a proper clean install, not an image restore. quite pleased with that. :)

just got to install all me drivers and proggies again... :p

Ccleaner and tune up utilities one button cleanup as it finds some registry errors ccleaner doesnt :)

After I have done a format one button cleanup finds over 100 to almost 200 errors and fixes them so it must be good, just have to run it a few times
