I'm a little confused at the moment with regards to reinstalling my Windows. I'm buying a new SSD and I have Windows 7 Home Premium Retail, as well as Windows 8 key which was an upgrade purchased directly through Microsoft. I've seen some of the Windows 8.1 ISO's floating around (the legal ones), will I be able to download and burn that to a DVD then use my Windows 8 upgrade key to install it? Or will I have to install Windows 7 first, then install 8 with my key, then upgrade to 8.1 with the update?

Or is there an easier way to do all of this? Thanks!

It'll be easier if you just download the 8.1 iso and then burn that to a dvd or usb and do a fresh install from it.

There are loads of links on how to do this. Try here http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39...nload-the-official-microsoft-windows-8.1-iso/

You should be able to use your Windows upgrade product key to download the iso however when you come to install it you will have to use a generic key and then input your upgrade key once all installed.

I hope this makes sense.
