Windows Remote Install

Hi All

Just wondering, we have many staff spread over the UK and some internationally. Some have laptops and some have desktop PCs.

If we need to re-install Windows, its a massive headache because not everyone can get to our IT office.

Is there any way we can deploy our Windows OS image over the net with minimal interaction by the user?

The simplest way is to create an answer file (how depends on the version of Windows) and have a fileshare with all the bits needed. The best and much more complicated way is to get something like SCCM or Altiris which will let you do installs and much, much more.

It also depends on what connectivity they have and where they are. Generally it's assumed they're in an office of yours somewhere which you control. Straight reinstalls over the internet I've not heard of before for Windows..
