windows running off USB HDD

Hi guys,
I’ve got a computer already installed with windows xp pro, and I want to clone the hdd to my usb hdd, so that I can boot into windows from the USB drive.

Is this possible? I have read a few articles about re-installing it onto an usb drive but never using an existing instillation

Could use Acronis True Image or Ghost to do this.

But why?

True image should work ,never used it to copy it to a usb stick though.

also have to ask the question again why would you want to do this ??

i wanted to install to an SDHC card as my eeepc has a 2gb ssd
but couldnt get it to work with the guide i used. you have to bypass the USB stack restarting its self during boot
