Windows Search bar stopped working...need help

So my Windows Search bar has stopped working. It just hangs on searching and never finds anything. This just started yesterday.

I've googled and done the following, amongst others:-

Updated Windows
Restarted Windows Search services from services.msc
Rebuilt Search index
Running sfc/scannow

I've tried pretty much most things I've googled but still can't get it to work.

Has anyone came across the same issue and found a resolution?

You're not the only one. Quite a few people have had issues too. Seems to be related to the inbuilt Bing search that for some weird reason stalls it.

You can force disable Bing search and it will allow Windows search to work again, although only with your local files/apps: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/1cgpt9i/comment/l1xor43/

I am using Windows 10 Pro (1709). A few times in last weeks I have noticed that search from start menu wont find any files. Simply rebuilding the index did not fix this. Looking deeper into indexing
