Had a new printer installed yesterday on a network but for some reason all machines refuse to connect to it.

I can see the printer listed when I go onto the domain along with any shared folders, but double clicking results in it saying I do not have sufficient access to connect to that printer.

If i logon as an administrator i can then connect to the printer fine, this then also allows users to connect without issue.

Is there something else i can do to allow users to just connect without having to login to each machine as an administrator first ?

The issue is that the printer driver is installed on the server but not on the users machines, the first time you connect to the printer it needs to download and install a local copy of the driver which at very least requires power user rights

you need to amend the policy "Prevent Users from Installing Printer Drivers" and set it to disabled to bypass this restriction

I've gone through Group Policy and set that option to disabled but still having issues with connecting to a printer.
