Gents,

I've created and linked a GPO to a new OU. Some clients are getting obscure messages in their event viewers about not having the policy applied.

I did some googling but couldn't really define the problem other than it looked like a permissions thing.

So, I opened up the GP editor and selected the policy. There is a window which shows the scope and the users security filtering (set to Authenticated Users by default). I can't seem to find a way to see the members of this group to know if my users (who are not in a default OU) are listed.

I have added the users manually to this section and the problem, I think, has vanished, but I would still like some clarification on this area.

Thanks

All users who authenticate with AD would reside under Authenticated Users. If the GPO applies to all users who have authenticated then it should work successfully.

Are you creating the GPO at Computer level or User level?
