So, who has made the move to 2008 then? We are in the process of replacing our email infrastructure and I am pushing to get Win 2008 as the OS for Ex2007, as it seems to make sense.

Anyone else about to do a 2008 deployment in any shape?

Doesn't look likely, a lot of our apps aren't officially support on 2008 (and we won't upgrade until they are). I'm also a great believer in the wait for the first service pack rule. It doesn't seem to offer any huge benefits at the moment so I'm happy to wait and we're starting to move a lot of systems over to unix as well, so we'll see how that goes before we start thinking about upgrades.

went to the TechNet roadshow last week where it was all Server 2008. looks very good from the Microsoft presentations. I would like to move to Exchange 2007 with Server 2008 too but we are lacking the x64 hardware for Exchange :(

Other than that Server 2008 looks very good with virtualisation, and the improvement that powershell scripting brings.

I just got the required autograph from a director today for a rack of new x64 kit for some of our apps, we're moving to RHEL x64 instead though...

we've been running a couple of 2008 boxes in vmware for a couple of months without any problems. One of them is set up as an exchange edge server and has been up 24/7 since it was installed. Looks like MS may have made a reasonable fist of 2008 :)

We have an exchange cluster with an uptime of 6 months plus on some servers...running 2003, thats our primary reason for not being too bothered about the upgrade - 2003 isn't broken so why pay lots of money for the headache of upgrading right now...

We will be moving soon I think.

Mainly becuase it's a Windows 2000 AD infrastructure so we need to move forward whilst maintaining application compatibility.

But then we saw this:

Obviously it needs a lot of testing but we are hoping that it will fit our needs perfectly and that way we can move to a pure Windows 2008 / Vista infrastructure without worrying about compatibility, etc.

We've got more than a few single task NT 4.0 boxes still and some of them have uptimes of over 6 months. I'd say 9 months or so is the record.

Windows has always been fairly reliable, as long as its just left alone to do its job. Like any server OS the more its buggered about with the less stable it will be....

We run a 2K domain with some 2K3 member servers, but we need to upgrade our Exchange 2K box, so moving to 2k7 along with a domain upgrade to 2003 (a nice 100K project :) ). We did look at 2008 server, but it does not offer us any more over 2K and 2K3, a big chuck of our users, connect into a AS/400 system so would not benefit from the extras we would get
