windows server 2008

been browsing round the forums and saw that server 2008 can be downloaded for free if student, now im really considering this as gf is student!!
but what im concerned about is i will be putting it onto my samsung nc10 netbook.
is this a good idea as i was looking and it said that its a stripped down so it might help with using on netbook.

but suppose real question would be what are hte main differences from server to normal os

I think it only applies to IT related students, and I imagine the licensing states that only the person who is a student can use it .

I'm not sure it will let you install on a laptop. I know windows home server doesn't and that is a stripped down version of 2008.
