Windows Server Activation

Im just coming upto the end of the 30 day trial and have tried activationby internet and via telephone but its not working. There serial number was used on a previous installation but because the server died and got full up, the boss just said re-install... It isn't the main server but I am at a dead end with what to do. If its not activated whats gunna happen?

What licence do you have for Windows Server? OEM, retail or volume licence?

Couldnt honestly tell you... It was written in notepad document along with the ones for all the PC's

That's not a good start. You need to find this out. Does the case have a certificate of authenticity attached to it? What media did you reinstall from? What is the last line in the EULA.txt file located in the Windows directory?

Was installed from a legit copy of server 2003 i had lying around and just used to companies serial number. Nothing dodgey about it. The case does have the sticker on but I dont know if the serial number on there is the one i used.

Right, that helps somewhat. If it's not activating, you have two options:

1) Use the telephone activation and see if MS activates you.

2) If the server can be reinstalled with OEM media and the serial on the case, internet activation will most likely be sucessful.

Ive tried telephone activation because its already been activated it wont activate again
