Windows server connector insanity....

I fully understand it is all my own silly fault.

Winsows Server 2012 Essentials R2 RC finally expired and set about rebooting every hour. I finally worked out what was going on so built a new Win Server 2012 Essentials R2 VM on the same host, moved over my shares from the old RC server to the new one and everything went smoothly.

Then I came to connect my desktop to the new server using the Server connector (http://[server]/connect). As I was still connected to my old servers domain (rather than moving the machine back in to a workgroup) it then proceeded to put my desktop in a reboot loop. The desktop would boot, load windows, report an error (could not run application or something) then prompted to reboot to continue the process.

I finally decided to rebuild the machine and after patching up Win 7 Pro to the current version I am now in the position where after running the connector it goes through asking for the account details, verifies the account is an admin account on the server and confirms I want to use it still and then after confirming it just sits there for a while before it reports it cannot connect to the server and I can only exit.

As this is a new build for the desktop I assumed it would all go smoothly but that appears not to be the case.

My HTPC worked fine after removing it from the original domain and then running the connector. Not issues at all but my main desktop is just not having any of it.

Any suggestions ?.

Thanks
RB
