i have a pc here where a virus seems to of played havoc with the windows services so i cannot connect to the internet. if i do a windows repair (boot from cd, enter, f8, r) then will it reset the services to default?

In my experience, dealing with a virus/viruses usually takes 5 -10 minutes or so long it's hardly worth it, especially if reinstalling is an option. Are there any files you need to rescue off the system?

If you want to continue down the manual route just be aware that it could take hours, is very tedious and not the best way to spend New Years Eve! :D

its not my pc so not really sure how much is needed but they were pretty adamant they didnt want it formatted.

im only here til 5:30 so if it aint done by then it aint getting done til sat so no major worries about that, just never had this problem with virus infections before.

lol unfortunatly virus removal is £55+Vat and a fresh install is £65+Vat so im pretty sure thats why they dont want to go down the reinstall route.
if it was my company i would just do it for same price but still.
