Have a look in control panel > user accounts > change the way users logon or logoff and see if the "Use welcome screen" option is available.

Sorry to hijack, but is there a login option screen like this in Vista?

nah, i heard that they removed it by "security" reasons or something silly like that.. so you cant disable the welcome screen either

god knows how adding Vista onto a domain will work

ah found it now

it says a recently installed program has disabled the welcome screen and fast switching users or something. guessing its the wireless software i installed.

will give netgear an email tomorrow see if i can change that

There is, but it's not the same :(. Go into secpol.msc, goto local policies/security options, find interactive logon:do not display last user name, and enable it.

Can't you choose to have the user press CTRL + ALT + DEL at logon in control userpasswords2?
Or does that just take you to the normal logon screen at that point?
