Whats the best program / way to change the skin windows uses? I'm currently using windowsblinds - it seems good but sometimes my taskbar can crash using it and not sure what causes it...which is a shame because i really like it.

If you could tell me what you use and what you've found best thanks :D

Thanks, how do i add the skins after ive used the patcher?

put the relevant files into your C:\WINDOWS\RESOURCES folder :) then you can either double click the visual styles or selectr them from the appearance tab in the right click - option menu of the desktop

so many theme sites seem to have installers for spyware in there "themes"... rather annoying

i got some vista pack v3 which is ok, however everything is so dark and depressing.

i tried downloading "watercolor" which is what i first used a few years ago, however as i say, it was trying to install spyware instead of the theme itself.....:(

oh well back to windows classic

it's so annoying isn't it - I couldn't believe the amount of rubbish some installers were installing.

I'm back on a clean nlited XP and running classic theme now like yourself

I never use Themes that come in .exe packages!... just incase!.. I always look for a decent (and for decent read 'LunaVX' as this is one of the best clean themes out there!!!) theme that comes in either a .zip or better still .rar!...

Adding the themes, i find ones i like on deviant and i try add them but it only seems to add some of the theme displayed on the pic, do i need to add more than just to the themes folder, is their anymore folders?
