Windows Small Business Server and scan to email

We have in our office a RICHOH3025 photocopier with scan to email function. We are having issues when from time to time the scan to email suddenly stops sending, then i am having to restart the server each time to get it up and running and working again. The server has Windows Small Business Server 2011 (SP1) installed, can anyone advise if their is a function on this that needs started to help in this problem we are having.

I have tried restarting cisco router, unplugging network cabling, only if i reboot it starts working again. Very strange.

Any help most appreciated.
 
When i spoke to RICOH and the technical guys that sold the photocopier they did not have a clue either. After an hour it is still working with no hang ups.

I opened up exchange management console and clicked on server config. then Hub transport and then created a new receive connector and put in the details of the photocopier.. i.e mail address of server and IP address of photocopier and that was it.
