Windows SMB?

Right had a few issues with sharing folders for the xmbc to use (kept asking for user/password), so sorted by allowing anyone to view the folders. Does this open me to any issues ie could anyone off the internet access my files? If so can I sort this with the router firewall or is there anther way to share files?

If your connected to the internet by a router then that's the device that's facing the internet. Your PC is sat behind that on a private network so it isn't open to the internet. Other PC's on your network could see your files though.

I had this problem with my Windows 8 HTPC, windows kept forgetting my password which affected xbmc access... I got round it by manually adding a new Windows Credential.

Just use the metro search for Vault or Manage windows credential.

(Ticking the check box to remember never worked.)
