I have one annoying little problem with Windows 11, and I was wondering if anyone found a solution to it.

When I plug in a monitor to the PC, the sound invariably defaults to that monitor, even though I have (countless) times told it to disable sound to that monitor.

Is there any way to get Windows to permanently stick to the onboard sound instead of doing this?

which method did you use
when you told it to disable sound to that monitor?
theres the allow/dont allow windows and apps to use this device for audio
then theres the more sound settings option
then you can right click the sound playback/recording devices and disable them

Yes, that's what I did. Even though it correctly says they are disabled, it sometimes re-enables them.

I guess this is just a quirk and will go away in time, or remain a right pain in the behind. :/
