I got my SP1 update the other day. so far World Of Warcraft has crashed 3 times (roughly once a day) and I have had my first ever BSOD in Win7!
What gives? Is SP1 the usual buggy crap microsoft fare?

No. Crashes and BSOD almost always point to dying/erroring hardware.

I've not had one BSOD on any of my Windows 7 machines. Even GFX card drivers crashing no longer cause BSODs.

Check memory using memtest, check any overclock using prime95. Run your disk manufacturers hardware tool.

In my experience, the only time service packs screw a system is when the system has been heavily 'tweaked' by random 3rd party programs etc.

Update all your drivers.

What security software do you have?

I've not had Windows 7 or SP1 crash a single time, this is on about 7 machines

It just seemed too much of a coincidence that all this happened just after i updated it. I have updated the Nvidia drivers and will do the rest soon. Hopefully that'll sort it.
The system is OC when I bought it, but it is only the CPU multiplier and that is usually throttled anyway. I'm running Avast antivirus. System has been totally stable until this happened.

Better get used to it this sort of stuff happenes in IT all the time!

Just had a nightmare night of BSODs. Any pointers as to which drivers may be causing it? I have done video and am working through the mobo stuff tho there dosent seem to be much new from Asus.

Have you run Memtest and a HDD diagnostic utility? I appreciate it looks software related but check the above first and then you may wish to have a look at Who crashed which is a program that can interpret the BSOD's if they are software related.

Service Pack 1 has stopped my windows 7 hard drive from booting even in safe mode.
The Windows logo appears then it just crashes and repeats the process.

I did the same on my laptop without any problems.

What codes did the bsod give you? There could be a million Nd one different reasons for a bsod. First port of call should be event viewer as that will provide you with a clue as to what's happened!

event viewer threw up this:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e (0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 071111-14398-01.
Lots of 0s...

I have updated Nvidia drivers to 275.33. I think it has only Blued while I am playing WOW. Dunno if that is pertinant?

Oh and have run memtest, 0 errors.
