Hi,

Last night we had a power cut and since then windows won't start up unless it's in safe mode! I've managed to get it started up in safe mode with networking but that's as far as I can go, it won't start up normally, as it won't go past the windows loading screen.

I've got Win XP SP2 and hardware as follows:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
Asus P5K Deluxe WiFi Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-5300C3 667MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AA663)
Seasonic M12 Modular 600W Silent ATX2.0 Power Supply
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Soundcard

Any advice appreciated! Thanks.

Take a Peek in the Event viewer to see what it says around the time of the power cut.
Does it give you any more information on boot or does it just hang?

It's not giving me any information on what's going on on normal boot, however on safe-mode boot it does flag up a bunch of errors/warnings - and they seem to be different each time.

Weird, as soon as I had put in the vista disk and restarted... it booted up in XP! What is my computer trying to tell me?! Thanks for the suggestions. :)
