Hey folks. Was in curreez and saw a win 7 tablet from acer and was wondering if it was any good or what ppl would recommend windows based.

Excuse spelling. On my phone.

Thanks :)

Would avoid Acer completely if going anywhere near a tablet. Their last generation of tablet PCs were awful and I wouldn't trust their build quality again.

Current Windows tablets are terrible unless you need a specific piece of software that only runs on Windows, even then your better off getting a netbook or notebook.

You'd be better off getting an iPad or an Android tablet, with the Galaxy Tab 10.1/8.9 and Asus Transformer being the best.

Windows 8 should be good for tablets, but that won't be released until the middle of 2012. You could get a Windows 7 tablet and install the Windows 8 Developer Preview on it, but as it's Alpha software and has very little software designed for it I would certainly not recommend it.

Oh and that shop is a competitor, you should probably remove it before a mod sees.

Took a look at the current W7 Acer the Aconia, it seems alright but its very heavy, seems very plastic and frankly compared to Android, iOS or the Playbook Windows 7 seems a nightmare to use touch screen only, Windows 8 next year looks like it could be a real force in tablets though.

Lesson learned! I will avoid. Any recommendations forsuitable tablet similar to kindle fire in size but with decent power for hd video, flash and good screen? So many ones out there its baffling. Thanks :)

Theres two 7" options (I think) Blackberry Playbook or the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" - there is the older one still floating about but I believe there is a new Samsung 7" due soon which is basically a cut down version of the bigger 10" one.
