only bumped up the fsb a bit and upped the cpu voltage. now windows takes a few minutes (on the vista loading screen with the little green loading bar) to boot  . left all other voltages on auto.

system is stable, thrashed it by playing a few hours of grid last night, no probs.

anyone seen that before?

I had a similar issue for a while. It just kind of went away after I turned off all the IDE options in my BIOS and got rid of other bootup issues. I don't know for certain it was the IDE that sped it up again (that wasn't the issue I was trying to sort at the time) but that's my best guess from what I did.

Have you turned your computer off a lot recently with out doing it properly, as in it crashed or just hitting the power button. Either from you or when you were over clocking to get it stable. If this happens X amount of times don't remember how many if u have any IDE drives they will switch from DMA to another mode starts with a P can't remember of the top of my head but this which will greatly slow down your computer b/c your drives won't be as fast. There's a way to check in your registry and you can switch it back to DMA also sorry don't remember how might be able to google it or maybe someone on the forms will know what I'm talking about.

coolio i'll look into these options. yep i have rebooted a lot because of soem freezes, and also had to default the bios a few times. i don thave any IDE drives at all, but you have given me an idea, thanks guys.
