Windows taking ages to load at startup?

I have hardly any programs running through ms config, and it is an almost fresh reinstall of windows, there is no spyware on the system and it has been completley defragmented. But it takes about 5 mins to become useable. Also sometimes the pc will just randomly lockup in explorer for no reason. What could be cuasing this?

I have none of the mentioned software other than msn. At least the jamming problem seems to have resolved itself after a reeboot. I'll try disabling msn and see if that helps.
