Windows taking for ever to install updates. Anybody else has the same issue

its taking half an hour to installing30 updates. alos they are very frequent

I would suggest you stop using XP or pirated disks

which ever one describes your situation best. If neither than I apologize as it is very annoying i'm sure

i jsut built a new pc with win 7 ooem 64 bit. thats probably the reason why its downloading all these updates

Slow for me sometimes as well even with a SSD. Fortunately you can just leave it to do it in the background.

Updates are fast for me. Of course there'll be a lot of updates with a fresh install of a two year old operating system with a service pack.

Did that include SP1? SP1 took over an hour to install for me.

30 updates would take time on windows. I find updates painfully slow compared to my linux OS's.

Same boat, did fresh install on laptop took about 5 hours with the updates. Properly did not help that it was also doing Office 2007 also.

Just one of those things unfortunately. Just leave it to do it's thing in the background and ignore it. Never really been an inconvenience for myself. Either that or I just leave it and go and do something else.

Do pirate versions of windows take longer to do updates? I had no idea.

thanks for the replies it did about 5 updates each time between 10 and 47 seems all done now
