We are currently in the process of migrating our Windows 2000 terminal server deployment to two new Windows 2003 terminal servers.

We currently run a licence server on the PDC (which is windows 2000) but I am using one of the new 2003 terminal servers to hold the 2003 licences.

My problem is, when I look in the terminal server licence manager on the new 2003 terminal server is tells me I have 60 user cals installed but under the 'issued' column it states 'not applicable'

Any ideas?

They wont be issued from the Terminal server itself, you need to statically set the location of the license server in the registry, if it's not a DC (a badly documented fact, for a change ;)).

May I ask why you are moving the license service?

2003SP1 had the feature to statically assign the licence server when you install terminal services, that feature points to the correct licence server, do I still need to set it in the registry?

The reason for the secondary licence server is that the pdc is 2000SP2, I didn't think you could issue 2003 user cals from a 2000 server
