Hi there guys i am having some major problems with our home pc which I don't use any more.
My mum was using it last night when a BSOD appeared saying no virtual memory was available, fair enough i thought, so restarted the computer to be greeted with a wealth of troubles.
First of all AVG displays a virus found message saying that a trojan horse had been found, i cannot move the mouse and the keyboard doesn't respond at all. There is as well a short cut appeared on the desktop called delself.bat (i have had a look on the internet about this and understand how to get rid of it etc, but as i cannot use the mouse or keyboard, problem!)
I tried starting it up in safe mode but no avail, the keyboard and mouse yet again do not work.
I also tried using the windows setup disc and booting from there, i first tried the recovery console but it said that it cannot detect any hard drive  very odd, also tried the windows set up but again it cannot find the hard drive so no luck.
I have had a look on the internet but cannot find anything to do, so any suggestions would be appreciated.
The last thing my mum said she did was click on a link on the internet, then the BSOD appeared.
The computer is some rubbishy Dell 9800 dimension jobby running Windows XP.
Forgot to add as well that i have done the mouse and keyboard tests, and the hard drive tests in the BIOS and they are all working fine.
