Windows turning itself off.

Having issues with my PC today.

After a short period of use will recieve a prompt saying windows will shut down in less than one minute.

Any ideas what this could be? Im running a malware scan now but and ive checked the registry and startup folder but nothing is showing up.

Sounds like the old sasser worm (iirc), though you'd need to be running an unpatched pre SP1 version of XP for that to be true, what version of windows are you running and is it up to date?

Windows 7 and it is up to date.

UPS service enabled for some reason? If it isn't detecting a "keep alive" signal from a connected UPS then it will shut the 'puter down. Just an idea.

You should be able to see something in the System Event Logs explaining the reason.
