Just built a new machine running XP Home SP2. I've taken down and installed almost all of the updates and they have worked fine. Last night whilst downloading the last few, after applying all of the previous ones, it hung whilst downloading one of them. Ever since when I try to do the downloads - I pick the option for Express install, and it starts to do a search of my machine (see the green chevrons going across the screen) but it stays like that for ages. Left it for over an hour last night and it didn't finish.
It's working fine on one of the other machines on my network, so not quite sure what's wrong here.
Anyone got any ideas on how to kick it into life again? I could just roll back to a restore point, but I’d rather try to get it working again without doing that if possible.
