Windows Update Question

Just curious on something I dont fully understand.

I have a large rig upstairs and plenty of HD Space,

Question though is about my laptop which only has 40GB Space HD.

Windows Update:

Right, There is a lot of stuff here it wants to download, only 2 months old this laptop with XP Home and sp2 insalled.

Do you always download everything M-soft says in the update or what ?


also, when it is all downloaded, I notice a lot of it is in Add / remove programs, do you keep it there ? just thinking as if m-soft keeps doing this, slowly my laptop will be full with just updates from them ?


Mainly on the updates it wants to install (about 15) are security updates / updates for windows xp

Yes I have CC on my Main Rig, I believe you unlick the Prefetch files on CC though if I remember correctly ?

As for hotfixes ? you mean you can delete them after they have been installed etc ? hotfix uninstallers (windows update temp files)
