Windows Updates failures

Hi. I've just formatted my laptop and reinstalled W7 Pro x64. After SP1 had installed, there were another 208 updates, as expected. On rebooting though, I get failed updates.

Later on, got 190 updates, probably the same ones, and same problem. Any solution? Thanks.

I know it's not ideal, but try 5 or 10 at a time to see if they install successfully. I had to do this for a Win8 laptop recently.

Same thing happened on my dad laptop I not used for 7 months ran Windows Update found 128 updates downloaded it automatically configured and installed but it failed updated after restarted and begin to rollback updates. It kept happened all the time so I had to go in Safe Mode to restored Windows 8 7 months back. Tried again with December 2014 updates then January 2015 etc but it didn't worked so I had to restored it twice and realised it because I set Windows Update settings to download update automatically as recommended so I changed it to download updates but let me choose whether to install them then tried again and it worked.

But unfortunately it failed with April 2015 updates so I figured I installed updates in wrong order so I had to restored 3rd time lol and did it all over again but before downloaded April 2015 updates I set restore point so I can restore it back to March updates incase it failed again so it worked until recently update installed.

I suggest you to set restore points for each month updates until all installed successful like I did.

Download an SP1 ISO file, use that, not a pre-SP1 disc.

Nowadays, I run this after installing.

Has 99% of the updates in that pack. Then I'll run Windows update to pick up the final bits.
