Windows updates keep failing

Anyone else experienced this?

i had the same issue with windows 7. after spending some time trying to resolve it i found it was quicker to do a reinstall.

you could try a system restore if you have that enabled.

I had that.

I also had disk access at 100% pretty much the whole time because the cheap crucial V4 (not M4 I have a few of those & they're flawless) was awful as boot drive, and the controller was being saturated.

A Samsung SSD and a re install 'fixed' it for me, I trawled the Microsoft Knowledge base & internet for ages and tried all the other fixes (safe mode/clean boot/individual downloads/Disable firewall & AV/new user account/system restore/re-activation/some random terminal shenanigans to name a few) to no avail, but the dodgy SSD may have been my problem.

Yeah tried a system restore at first when all the updates failed the first time to no avail.

Oh well, looks like a night in reformatting! Ahhh, brings me back

This has something to do with the order Frameworks or Service packs are downloaded but I can't remember any details.

Check to see what ones you have installed then delete them re installing them manually in the right order.

Try installing the .NET 4 from MS's site
