windows usb help please . . .

lately everytime I plug something into a USB port on my PC a couple of programs automatically start as well.

How can I stop this selectively?

Are they USB drives of some sort? Could well be autoplay which you can disable via the drie properties.

well - when I plug my phone in as well as iTunes (which is fine) starting up - I get Adobe Lightroom starting up too - which is annoying - its lightroom which is the main culpret - how can I stop this?

solved . . .

You will have to change the setting in your registry. I don't know of another way to do it.

Windows:
1) Start - Run - type "regedit"
2) Look in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Lightroom\1.0\Adobe Photo Downloader\Preferences"
3) Double-click the item called "AutoLaunchOnDeviceConnect".
4) Change "Value data:" from '0' to '1'. Click OK.
5) Close regedit, and try connecting your devices now.
