Windows scans for new networks every 60 seconds - it did it on xp - it does it on vista. Thing was on XP you could disable a service called "windows zero config" which would stop the lag - but on vista you cant.

To fix the problem on vista you can download WLAN Optimizer to fix your problems. It works great I had it on 32 bit windows vista with my F5D7050 Belkin 54G network adapter.

But now that i have windows vista 64 bit i can no longer use my belkin adapter because they havent released any 64 bit drivers. So i bought a WUSB54GR so i connect to the internet but i get lag spikes every 60 seconds. :( Wlan optimizer and vista anti lag dont work.

i think it is something to do with drivers that are stopping them from working but strange thing is on the Linksys website they have not one driver that works with WUSB54GR that works with vista 64 - luckily windows update found and installed one that worked.

anyways I wanna know if there is anything i can do to get rid of the spikes again.

I hope that when belkin releases 64 bit drivers they will work with WLAN optimizer and such. But until then i dont know what to do. I have installed about 15 differemt drivers for my new network adapter (WUSB54GR) and none worked!

WHY HASNT MICROSOFT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?
THEY MUST BE AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS!
WHY DOES MY PC NEED TO SEARCH FOR A NEW NETWORK EVERY 60 SECONDS???????????!?!?!!??

any help would be appreciated lol
