okay, so i have had vista home premium about a months now, and starting to get a little hacked off with it. i am willing to give it more of a chance though, as it could just be me having problems getting used to a new os.

anyway, last night a message randomly came on the screen about having to revert the colour scheme to basic/normal/defualt (cant remember exactly).

following this, i tried switching it back to aero, and all i get is the basic vista scheme. flip 3d isnt working either.

anybody know how i need to go about getting this working again??? (short of installing xp pro back onto my machine!!!)

Did you try to reinstall your graphics driver?

If that doesn't solve it, try the following:

Right-click on your Desktop and select Personalize. Choose Display Settings.
Click on Advanced Settings > Troubleshoot. Click on Change settings. Make sure that the hardware acceleration is set to Full Acceleration.

I got that message the other night, I was tryin to run a program that didnt like aero so it reverted to basic scheme, then when i finished with the prog, it went back to normal.

i get it with divx trying to play something in my browser it reverts and wont go back .. just a quick reboot and your on your way tho

i just leave it disabled, got annoyed with it turning off when i used media player classic, seems a bit snappier now
