Im running Windows Vista on my laptop and Windows XP on my desktop computer, i would like to make my desktop the main server and view files off this through the laptop and vice versa.

I have managed to connect to the BT Wireless Hub and have internet access but how do i share files between computers?:(

Thanks.

I have tried file sharing but my laptop cannot see either computer
through the network. Any links to setting this up.

Is the laptop viewable on the desktop? Are they both on the same workgroup? Run network setup wizard on XP, check which workgroups they are in and disable any third party Firewalls.

The laptop isn't viewable on the desktop, i have called the workgroup both the same names, i have installed network wizard on XP and still cannot view the laptop. My day just gets better :p

Firewalls are enabled, do you think this is causing the problem, do
i need to switch them off.

Can you post a screen shot of the vista networking and sharing centre, the main culprit may be in there, such has having public sharing off, network discovery off etc.
