Windows Vista - Classic theme.

Hi,

Got a problem with a PC.

It was running an AVG Update/Scan and when the PC restarted it switched back to the old Windows Classic theme.

The Vista/Aero one is no longer on this list! Never had this problem or heard of this problem before, is there a way to fix?

The old old classic theme a la windows 98?

Try:
Run>"services.msc">Themes

Make sure "Themes" and "Desktop Window Manager Session Manager" are both on automatic start and are running.
 
Try the above ^^^^ but also be mindful some software can disable aero especially stuff like Logmein, I had logmein do similar all of a sudden

Do this and even if Themes is running, right click and restart it.

I had this exact issue yesterday after Windows Updates had occurred. Restarting the Themes service seemed to do the trick.
 
After all my googling, OCUK is the place to find the answer! Been strugglin to find an answer for about 10 mins n this has sorted the same issue out :)
