Hey all.

Decided to give the W7 RC a try, currently downloading. Now I have Vista x64 installed, and I want to install W7 on a different partition without disturbing what I currently have.

I'm looking at disk management, and there's an option to "shrink volume". I assume I need to do this, then take said space and make a partition for W7?

What I want to know, is will this screw my Vista install? Or is it totally safe?

Nope its safe. I did the same thing to mine, just make the new partition after the current one not before it.

It's safe but it is a bit more choosy that samething like Partition Magic. It can be very conservative about how far you can shrink the volume down. It's worth running a defrag first to maximise your "shrinkability".
