hey guys :D

is there a way to get windows vista to allow me to push my res up from 1900x1200 to 2048x1536. ive unlocked it and its only allowed me to get to 1900x1200 with my 21" crt, which is strange.

anyone know a way around this?

i doubt the problem is with vista itself but more likely the gfx drivers? i don't actually know for sure though, just guessing. :D

there perfectly up to date. most unusual issue ive ever seen tbh lol

i got it working a while back, but how is the question i cant answer

yes, 21" goes up to 2048x1536, not many people know this and disagree, but it does, end of lol.

xp does it fine when i unlock it, but cant see why vista is stopped at 1920x1200 when i unlock resolutions

Why would you want a 21" monitor to have that res?

Surely it looks ridiculously small? If you want it bigger, get a 24" or a 30" TFT.

i have perfect eye's (trying to to brag or anything) and i much rather the smallest resolution possible for maximum work surface.

i hate running 1600x1200, a firefox window takes like 70% of my surface area... gets very stupid.

and i dont have a half a grand to chuck away atm. and i love my CRT :D

i shall be migrateing onto my other 150 raptor and installing windows xp tonight and shall run dual boot until i get it sorted.

anyone got any ideas at all, let me know :)

I'm the same. I use a laptop, mostly - and usually go for Dell, as they let you choose your screens (amongst other things!)

I currently have a 15.4" Widescreen with a res of 1920x1200 - usually reserved for 24" monitors and above. Most people who look at it ask how the hell I can read anything.

How much Video Memory does your gfx card have because if you are running aero you will need a fair amount of Video Memory.
