Windows Vista home premium install help

Hello to everyone!
Just got hold of this from overclockers its the 32bit oem version.
I want to do a fresh install wipe my primary drive. Rather than go through backing up my stuff to disc would my data be safe on my secondary hard drive?

Shouldn’t be a problem. I went from XP with a C/D NTFS two drive set-up to a similar Vista set-up. Left all my data, etc, on D drive, formatted C and installed Vista on it. D drive remained untouched.

Would I need to unplug the second drive? or just leave it as it is?

Just leave it as is. Unless you are really unsure about it, unplug. But there really is no need to do that.
